About
Where tree science meets Physical AI.
Three founders from the Technical University of Munich, building AI that understands trees.

Darbots brings together research in remote sensing, computer vision and landscape architecture. Our mission is to use technology to make cities greener and safer, and to help people care for the trees they are responsible for.
Our story
From the lab to the street.
Darbots began in the research labs of the Technical University of Munich. Hadi Yazdi and Qiguan Shu spent years teaching machines to read trees: their trunks, branches and crowns, from camera images and 3D scans.
Felix Zimmermann brought the view from the ground. As a landscape gardener and landscape architect, he knew what tree inspectors face every day: long lists, little time and decisions that affect public safety.
Together, with Prof. Ferdinand Ludwig as academic advisor, they founded Darbots. Their idea is Physical AI for trees: models that understand real trees in the real world from the visual data that cities and companies can already collect.
